Busaba Eathai was my favourite Thai restaurant when I lived in London, and now it’s opened in Dubai. Wow!!
It is a casual but sophisticated restaurant chain, with low-lighting which make the ambiance quite dark.
I went there with two friends and my expectations about the great food were confirmed and all were greatly impressed by the service. Once again I was not disappointed. Believe me, your craving for Thai food will be satisfied at Busaba Eathai!
On arrival I was surprised that just a few tables were occupied and not many tables were large.
– Every time I went to Busaba Eathai in London there was a long line waiting outside to get in: most of the tables were large, so diners had to sit with strangers. That’s not ideal for a romantic dinner but it is a good way to meet new people. –
Once seated and having ordered our dishes, we waited for our dinner while drawing on the back of the placemats with crayons provided by the restaurant.
I chose a Pad Kwetio and a Mango Lassi to drink (natural yougurt, rosewater, honey, cardamom) which is the perfect accompaniment to a spicy flavour. I loved both!
My dining companions opted for a Pad Thai and a Tom Yam Talay.
Tom Yam Talay didn’t really work for my friend and straight away our waitress wanted to know which dish she could bring to replace that one. My friend ordered Chilli prawn, I had a try and it was good. The manager even came over to ask if we liked the new dish: at the end they took the Tom Yam Talay off our bill.
The total price was 206.00 AED (51,05 Euro), and this included 1 bottle of water (Acqua Panna).
